Shana Horvitz

Regional Lead

Shana grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and then went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Master of Education in Educational Policy, Organization, and Leadership from the University of Illinois. Currently living in Chicago, Shana has over a decade of experience in urban education serving as a Social Studies and English Language Arts teacher, an Instructional Coach, and most recently as an Assistant Principal. In these roles, she has supported teachers and leaders in implementing high quality instructional materials and best practices to ensure all students have access to an excellent and equitable education. Shana joined the DBQ Project in August of 2023.
