Using DBQs to Engage ALL Students in Reading, Writing, and Thinking in Elementary and Middle School

This DBQ Project introductory workshop is designed to get teachers excited new to DBQ excited about the pedagogy and to serve as a reinvigorating refresher for those already steeped in the DBQ experience.

Special emphasis will be placed on differentiating the process to meet the needs of all learners in grades 3-8. The goal of the workshop is for all participants to leave enthusiastically ready to implement a DBQ in their classrooms. Participants will receive a sample unit from The DBQ Project materials. History/Social Studies and ELA/R teachers, administrators and instructional coaches of grades 3-8 are encouraged to attend. Lunch will be provided.

The purchase of DBQ binders and/or a DBQ Online subscription is encouraged but not required.
