The DBQ Project Grades 4-5 – Document Based Questions

Fresno, CA: January 25, 2019

The newly adopted California History-Social Science Framework (2016) calls attention to the importance of developing content knowledge and inquiry-driven approaches to learning, while also building literacy skills and preparing all students for engaged citizenship in the 21st century. This lively one-day training will provide upper elementary teachers with instructional strategies, sample lessons and practices to utilize the document-based question approach to inspire great teaching and learning while meeting the goals of the new CA HSS Framework. Mollie Hackett of the DBQ Project will provide practical, hands-on experience with materials specifically designed to match the California History-Social Science Standards and Frameworks for grades 4 and 5.
