Engaging Students and Meeting Standards With Document Based Questions in History Class

Norristown, PA: February 6, 2019

Document-Based Questions (DBQ) are an excellent way to incorporate historical thinking with literacy at all levels. Through the usage of well-designed DBQs, educators are empowered to teach students to read, write, and think critically about historical questions. DBQs provide teachers with a wealth of primary and secondary sources, which is what PA CORE Literacy Standards require teachers to use. DBQs also tap into the analytical skills being asked of our students as they tackle evidence-based writing like the TDA. Join us for this relevant workshop led by The DBQ Project experts themselves!
