Content, Inquiry, Literacy, and Citizenship – Closing the Gap for History, Civics, Geography, and Economics for Grades 6-12 – Day Two

The newly adopted California History-Social Science Framework calls attention to the importance of developing content knowledge, inquiry-driven approaches to learning, building literacy skills and preparing all students for engaged citizenship in the 21st century.
This two-day training will provide history-social studies teachers, grades 6-12 with instructional strategies, sample lessons, and practices to utilize the document based question approach to inspire great teaching and learning while meeting the goals of the new Framework. DBQ Project Co-Founder Chip Brady will provide practical, hands-on experience with materials and introduce participants to the DBQ materials specifically designed for history, civics, geography, and the newly released economics DBQ binder.
The purchase of DBQ binders is encouraged but not required. Participants will receive sample lessons to use and adapt for classroom use.
